Can you do 30?
Happy New Year. The time of new year’s resolutions. Did you make some? It seems people either totally embrace or totally reject them. Or make the same ones over and over again. What did you do?
A year is a really long time to commit to a new habit, and unfortunately only a small percentage of people actually keep their resolutions. I’ve been writing a lot about 30 day practices and how this might be a better length of time, and a better tool, for sustainable change.
Also, more than ever 2017 looks like it’s going to offer many “opportunities” for us to test, and ultimately build, our strength, balance, patience, calm, compassion and wholebeing.
Why not get a jump start with a 30 day Challenge in January?
Don’t worry that we are already a few days into the new year. You can begin a 30-day practice any day you like.
Here are my top 5 suggestions a 30 Day Challenge.
31 Day Yoga Revolution: YouTube Yogi Adriene sends an email and a link to a 25-35 minute yoga video each day in January. This is the one I’m committing to as I love Adriene.
30 Days of Mindfulness: Get a 4-5 minute mindfulness meditation in your inbox each day.
10 Day Happiness Challenge: Repeat three times for a 30 day program.
30 Days of Healthier Dinners: Complete with recipes and shopping lists.
30 Day Running Challenge for Beginners: Great for a safe, steady guide to becoming a runner.
How to set your goal and keep track? So glad you asked. We’ve made a sheet for you to print out to help you out.
Make sure to set your goal and also make yourself a PASS COUPON, so you can use it on the one day of the month when you need a break. This gives you permission to be human.
Pick something that is out of your comfort zone, grab a friend and enjoy! It’s gonna be a crazy year for sure.
Be well, it’s a state of mind.
