An Architect and an Attorney Walk Into a Retreat

I’m writing today to share some big news about how life, once again, delivers the unexpected.

It was September 2023. Jarrod Matteson was a partner at a global law firm in Boston. Working on high-profile real estate deals, the work was all-consuming.

However, even before law school, he found meditation and developed a regular practice to find balance. Then, he acquired training in energy and breathwork and developed a love for exploring his inner journey.

He mentored associates in the office, and friends and family turned to him when they faced challenges. Guiding others felt natural and rewarding. He started wondering if there could be something more aligned with those interests for the next chapter of his life.

In 2008, I was at a similar life intersection. I had transitioned from an architecture and exhibit design practice to launching Prasada. (Some of you may remember the early days as Deliver Me Yoga, then Deliver Me Wellness!)

After COVID-19, Prasada expanded with our amazing team, and by 2023, I was wondering, too. I imagined having a business partner with skills that could complement mine to help expand the way we serve. (The word prasad means an offering of grace in Sanskrit.)

Jarrod and I were both members of the Psychedelics Today community as students in the Vital program, and our paths intersected at a retreat. A few months later, Jarrod stepped in to take on a leadership role at another Prasada-hosted retreat when one of our team members fell ill at the last minute.

Almost every member of the Prasada team has arrived in this natural and unexpected way.

Following that retreat, Jarrod and I teamed up to launch The Infinite Center in early 2024, a sister company to Prasada that offers retreats. As we worked together, it became obvious that Jarrod was also the partner I had imagined for Prasada.

As they say, the rest is history.

Click here for the official Press Release to learn more about Jarrod. He will share more about how he made that leap in the coming months.

Soon, we'll be sharing exciting news about a new program and a fall retreat in Portugal.

I’m sure some things have changed for you, too. I’d love to hear from you, especially about your recent challenges and successes. Thank you for being here. We’ll talk again soon.
