This afternoon I stepped outside for a short hike in the woods. There are so many parks in and around Philadelphia.
The day was amazing. The temperature was in the 60s. There were big puffy clouds gently floating in the sky. The sun was bright and warm. The soft breeze blew through the branches and new young leaves creating a sound that mixed well with the birds singing.
I noticed how time seemed to slow down. The worries of the day were no longer creating tension. My body relaxed and the smile on my face widened.
I see all the young plants beginning to grow taller. This reminds me of the seeds I planted and are now beginning to grow. By midsummer they should be full-grown or almost there.
One of the yoga sutras states, “Now is the time for yoga.” Like the sutra, being with the plants in the moment and noticing their vibrant colors and aromas brings me to the present moment.
See if in your day you can be in nature and be present in the moment. Noticing the sounds smells and the breeze. Have fun and enjoy.
